So it has been announced that Captain Planet is about to be the next childhood memory that is going to be destroyed by old men in a studio trying to make as much money as they can.
Murphy and Angry Filmworks are most notably credited for the highly successful action-adventure franchise, Transformers (2007), Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (2009) and Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011). Murphy and Montford together produced the upcoming Hugh Jackman blockbuster Real Steel with Executive Producer Steven Spielberg. The company also is responsible for such action-oriented films as Shoot ‘Em Up (2007), The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (2003), Apt Pupil (1998) and Natural Born Killers (1994).
None of those films make me particularly happy that these guys have been given the reigns for this film franchise. The successfully had a hand in helping fuck up the last two Transformers films, Now they are going to try to bring down the ultimate Eco-warrior himself. I guess we will just have to wait and see what happens next.
Natural Born Killers is fucking amazing!
ReplyDeleteI Haven't seen Apt Pupil or Natural Born Killers, The rest of the films were average. Transformers was good the first time, but diminished in awesomeness with every consecutive film, till the sequels made the original retroactively shit. Shoot Em Up was supposed to be a comedy action film that got its humor from OTT action. it Missed the mark more often than it hit. And the league of extraordinary gentlemen was just average. 2 out of 7 isn't a great ratio.
